ASSISTED STRETCHES:

BENEFITS: Opens the joints, stretches tight muscles, relaxation, assists in circulation and openness in the body.

Assisted Stretches therapy is similar to Thai massage or passive yoga. All the major joints are worked with joint rolls, helps circulation and eases stiffness. Helps with pain management and flexibility. The joints are also places where build up occurs and that causes pain. The spine, limbs, neck, joints and muscles are stretched and opened, easing inflexibility and tightness. The therapy is ended with an abdominal massage to ground and stabilize the body.

CHI NEI TSANG:

BENEFITS: Chi Nei Tsang releases stress and promotes healing by opening knots around the navel and surrounding vital organs. Assisting in anxiety, depression, digestive issues, releases stress in the bones, better breathing, low energy, circulation, back pain, organ health/vitality, abdominal detoxification, abdominal inflammation, lymphatic drainage, ptsd, unresolved emotions and trauma.

Chi Nei Tsang is an ancient and time tested form of detoxifying via abdominal bodywork that has been practiced for thousands of years in China. Chi Nei Tsang is an art and science that utilizes a systematic method to strengthen, energize and detox the internal system. It eliminates toxins in the G.I. tract and promotes lymphatic drainage. The abdomen is a place where stress, tension and negative emotions accumulate and congest. When the abdominal area is knotted up , the vitality of the whole body is blocked. The body wastes so much energy holding this tension and slowly weakens the vital internal organs and decreases the available energy for the rest of the body. It is a collective consensus in all the systems of the world, that the gut is an important area to treat for overall quality of life. There is also a lot of research coming out in western medicine about the importance of the this area from the microbiome to the mesentery plexus. The gut is greatly impacted by stress, negative emotions and bad food. The gut has a mind of its own. In fact, do you know we have a second brain in the gut called the enteric brain? This complex and hidden brain creates butterflies, gut feelings, sends and receives impulses from the head brain, records experiences and responds to emotions. Have you ever noticed the wrinkles of the intestines mirror the wrinkles in the brain? There is an estimated 72,000 nerves around the navel and has the biggest concentration of connective tissue in the body. The gut also houses two thirds of our immune system, produces serotonin and has its own neurons. There are 400 more signals sent from the gut to the brain, than from the brain to the gut. Ever have a gut feeling? Ancient masters recognized that our emotions are directly related to our organs. Traumatic experiences can manifest as knots that the power house nervous system that is our gut holds onto. There are points on the abdomen that directly reflex to the vital organs that can be released and opened.

SPINE BASTI: HERBAL STEAM THERAPY

BENEFITS: This therapy assists with many types of back pain, tight muscles, anxiety, nervous system communication, relaxes the organs, stress relief, relaxation, low back issues, adrenal fatigue, circulation, spinal flexibility and rejuvenation,

The spine is one of the most vital regions of our body. It is the powerhouse and main communication conduit of our nervous system. All the nerves and organs of our body are connected with the spine and having a flexible stress free spine is very important to overall well being and health. If your muscles are tight, it is caused by a tight spine and nervous system. If you have a tree with a compromised root system, you don't effect the roots if you just cut off some leaves and branches in the same way if our muscles and organs are tight, you need to go to the root or the nervous system. The Spine Basti goes right to the source of tension and pain. It is a natural, safe and non invasive external oleation therapy. This therapy involves warm medicated organic herbalized oil poured into dough dams along all of the spines nerve plexuses. For a fixed period of time, the whole spine is bathed with this organic herbalized oil specifically for tight nerves and muscles. The oil deeply nourishes and relaxes the spine, spinal cord, back muscles and nervous system. The oil has a dual action of pulling out toxins while deeply nourishing the area, like oiling a rusty door hinge. After the dams are removed the oil is then massaged in deeper along the spine, low back and shoulders. Afterwards, steam therapy is applied to the whole back which opens the pores, releases tightness/congestion and drives the medicated herbs deeper into the muscles, nervous system and spine.

SOMATIC SPINE RELEASE

BENEFITS: Somatic Spine Release assists in pain management and spine health, relaxation, adrenal fatigue, better communication and circulation of the nervous system, tight muscles, improves blood flow, emotional and stress release, ptsd, headaches, menstrual issues, back pain, organ health and problems with oxygenation, assimilation and elimination.

Our mind and body are reflections of each other. The word psycho-somatic refers to a physical imbalance caused or aggravated by the interaction between the mind and body. The nervous system has two main branches. The central nervous system consisting of the brain and spinal cord. The second is the peripheral nervous system, consisting of nerve endings that come off the spinal cord and horizontally wrap around the body, connecting to the organs in the front. Our body registers and records emotions or "feelings" in the nervous system in the form of tension. Our organs and nervous system are intimately connected to our emotions. Nerves are like wires and when they tense up, they short circuit and effect the communication from the brain and nervous system to the organ. The function either speeds up, slows down or shuts off. The body requires a healthy outlet of this emotional charge. If we continually repress emotions the nervous system and the related organs don't function optimally. Nerve supply and circulation to and from the organs are hindered. In the somatic spine therapy there are 11 sections of nerves that wrap around the body connecting to the organs. There are also 3 main physiological "zones" of nerve supply function. The top zone is the oxygenation zone and is the main nerve supply to the thyroid, heart, lungs and oxygenation of the blood. The middle zone is the assimilation zone and is the main nerve supply to the liver, gallbladder, spleen, pancreas and stomach. The bottom zone is the elimination zone and is the main nerve supply to the intestines, bladder and the uterus/prostate.

AYURVEDIC SENSE THERAPY/HEAD, NECK MASSAGE/HERBAL STEAM THERAPY:

The mind and brain are directly related to the senses. In our modern world we are in a situation where the senses are overused, underused or cant slow down leaving the mind scattered. This therapy begins with a warm herbalized oil massaged over the abdomen while deepening the breath and grounding the mind. Next, the top of the shoulders, spine, and low back are massaged with a traditional Tibetan lotion that loosens tight muscles and nerves. Steam therapy is applied which allows the sweat glands to open, sending the herbalized oil deeper into the muscles, relieving congestion. The last part uses massage strokes around the sense organs, back of the head, neck and face which will help to relax cranial nerves as well as surrounding marmas (vital/indian acupressure points) with the intention of centering the thinking mind, bringing more circulation to the brain and calming the nervous system.

Shirodhara is a 5000 year old therapy of Ayurveda that greatly effects the nervous system. Shirodhara is word comprising two terms,"shiro” meaning head and "dhara" meaning to pour a stream. Our brain is connected to every muscle in our body. The brain and nervous system are sometimes symbolized as an upside down tree with the roots in the head, the trunk in the spine and the limbs are the branches. If you "water the roots", you nourish the whole tree. Shirodhara is where a steady stream of warm herbalized oil is poured over the middle of the forehead or "ajna marma", a point on the forehead directly related to the master gland, "the pituitary gland", where the nerves are highly concentrated. Ajna means order. The pressure of the oil creates a vibration, slowing down brain waves. The oil saturates the forehead and scalp and penetrates the nervous system, brain and endocrine system. This therapy is profoundly relaxing and nourishing. Shirodhara assists in kindling the flame of awareness in the head responsible for clear perception and clear thinking. It is time tested and considered the number one treatment for the mind in Ayurvedic Medicine. It assists in depression, nervousness, mental clarity, memory, discernment, relaxation, cerebral circulation and promotes comprehension/clear perception, just to name a few. It is like a massage for the brain.
